Space Shuttle launch

This is a photo I took of today's space shuttle launch, as viewed from far South of the launch pad -- Miami. Actually, it was closer to Ft. Lauderdale. Right along I-75. I was looking dead north, from the south side of I-75, across from Markham Park near State Road 84. The flat land is the edge of the Everglades. The shuttle looks like a typical jet contrail, so I added the box to help you find it.

isn't it amazing just how far away you can be & still see the launch? it was one of the first sights i saw the very early morning i arrived in FL to live here...

Everyone has the stock photos of the launch. One of these "far away", yet personally taken pictures really provides a whole other dimension to these events.

LOL thanks for the box! I can remember watching a space launch from the beach at Vero when I was a little girl.

Very cool pictures! One of our elders is a "rocket scientist" for NASA in Houston, so I follow these launches carefully.
